FORTEMED research projects

The research project “Development of therapeutic recommendations for the daily skin care of psoriasis patients using naturally derived active substances encapsulated in cosmetics, and development of its production technology” aims to develop recommendations for a two-stage skin protection system. As part of this project, at least one cosmetic product will be developed for the daily care of psoriasis-affected skin. It will form a lasting protective layer to restore the skin's natural balance and protect it from external stressors. The product system will consist of at least two naturally derived cosmetic products: a daily skin-restoring cream and a cleansing product. The product developed as a result of the research project will be natural, with an innovative active-substance delivery system, and will contain biotechnologically obtained raw materials. The preservation system will not contain traditional preservatives that can be highly irritating to people with psoriasis, including benzyl alcohol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, benzoic acid, salicylic acid, dehydroacetic acid, ethyl alcohol, pentylene glycol (1,5-pentanediol), propylene glycol (1,2-propanediol), and others.

Project implementation period: 01.04.2023 – 31.03.2026.

The total eligible costs of the research project are planned at EUR 80,530.00, including EUR 60,224.00 in co-financing from European Union funds.

The study is being implemented as part of the project of the COMPETENCE CENTRE FOR PHARMACY, BIOMEDICINE AND MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES.
