SIA “Medon” and SIA “ForteMed” are implementing a research project within the framework of the Latvian Recovery and Resilience Mechanism Plan, Reform and Investment Direction 2.2 “Digital transformation and innovation of enterprises”, investment 2.2.1.3.i “Support for introducing new products and services in business”, implemented by the Competence Centre for Pharmaceutical, Biomedical and Medical Technologies SIA.

Research project title: Development of a digital artificial intelligence solution “Virtual Doctor Assistant”;
Research project number: F-DIGIT-12
Project No.: 2.2.1.3.i.0/1/24/A/CFLA/005

The objective of the project is to establish cooperation between SIA “Medon” and SIA “ForteMed” in order to develop an innovative digital artificial intelligence (AI) solution – the “Virtual Doctor Assistant” – that will significantly improve the efficiency of healthcare institutions. This AI tool will make the daily work of healthcare professionals easier by automating and structuring the processing of medical data and the preparation of documentation, analysing information entered in free form and converting it into a legally compliant format, as well as ensuring integration with existing systems, including "E-health". The “Virtual Doctor Assistant” will be practical, scalable and ready for implementation in family doctor practices, as well as in the outpatient and inpatient sectors.

During the period from 01.02.2026 to 30.04.2026, Activity 3 — "Study of the information system of a healthcare institution" was implemented, within which an in-depth study of Latvian healthcare information systems (SmartMedical, E-health, Ārsta Birojs, Medius) was carried out. API integration opportunities, data exchange mechanisms, authentication and security requirements were identified, and IT documentation for the product and a development plan for the tool were prepared.

As a result of the activity, IT documentation for the product and a development plan for the tool were prepared, including integration with other IT systems.
