FORTEMED participates in an EU innovation project

Research project title: Development of the digital artificial intelligence solution “Virtual Assistant for Doctors”

Project No.: 2.2.1.3.i.0/1/24/A/CFLA/005

Project objective: to create cooperation between two healthcare companies — SIA “Medon” and SIA “ForteMed” — and develop a digital artificial intelligence solution — “Virtual Assistant for Doctors” — with the aim of significantly improving the efficiency of healthcare institutions.

SIA "Medon" and SIA "ForteMed" are implementing the research project within the framework of the SIA "Competence Centre for Pharmacy, Biomedicine and Medical Technologies" project, the Latvian Recovery and Resilience Mechanism Plan's reform and investment direction 2.2 "Digital transformation and innovation of enterprises", investment 2.2.1.3.i "Support for the introduction of new products and services in business".

Planned result: An innovative digital AI solution — “Virtual Assistant for Doctors” — will be developed to significantly facilitate the daily work of healthcare professionals by automating and structuring the processing of medical data and preparation of the necessary documentation.

The tool will work as an assistant during a doctor's work, analysing information entered in free form, converting it into legally correct and structured documentation, ensuring integration with existing systems as well as with “E-health”.

The result of implementing the solution will be:
  • significantly shorter medical-documentation preparation time,
  • lower risk of errors,
  • reduced emotional burden on doctors,
  • clearer and higher-quality communication between doctor and patient,
  • higher quality of care,
  • potentially more efficient use of public resources.
The solution will be practically applicable, scalable and ready for implementation in family doctor practices as well as in the outpatient and inpatient sectors.

Project implementation period: 01.08.2025 to 31.01.2027.

Eligible project costs: 251,407.26 EUR. Amount of support: 179,859.33 EUR
