Who is a dermatologist?

A dermatologist is a doctor who specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the skin, hair and nails. Dermatologists help with both acute and chronic skin problems, and also perform aesthetic and functional procedures to improve the health and appearance of the skin.

For timely diagnosis and treatment, consult a doctor if you experience the following symptoms:
  • Warts and papillomas: These growths may be associated with viral infections and should be examined and treated to avoid potential complications.
  • Enlargement of warts and birthmarks, suspected neoplasms: Changes in skin formations can indicate various problems, including potentially dangerous conditions such as melanoma.
  • Hair loss and baldness: These symptoms may be associated with hormonal disorders, stress, or other medical problems.
  • Peeling and ingrown nails: These problems may be related to chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis or infections.
  • Dandruff: Although it may be harmless, dandruff can also indicate skin problems such as seborrhoea.
  • Skin discolouration: These changes may be associated with various diseases such as vitiligo or inflammatory processes.
  • Itchy skin, flaking, and swelling: These symptoms may indicate an allergic reaction, an infection, or a chronic skin condition.
  • Blackheads (comedones): These may be related to acne or other skin conditions that require treatment.
  • Herpes: Outbreaks of this virus can be unpleasant and painful, so it is important to begin treatment early.

Visit to a FORTEMED dermatologist

The goal of the FORTEMED medical centre is to provide you with the highest level of dermatological care. Our specialists are experienced professionals who use the latest technologies and methods to deliver a comprehensive, individualised approach to your skin health issues.

The duration of a dermatologist consultation depends on the diagnostic tests and procedures performed, but on average it lasts about 30 minutes. During this time, the specialist examines skin lesions with a dermatoscope and performs any necessary procedures to resolve the patient's problem.

You can see a dermatologist at our clinic on short notice, as we understand how important it is to address skin health issues promptly. Rest assured, our team is ready to help you with all your skin health problems:
  • TREATMENT OF SKIN AND NAIL DISEASES
  • TREATMENT OF HAIR DISEASES
  • ANTI-AGING THERAPY
  • COSMETOLOGY
  • ALLERGOLOGY

Treatment of skin and nail diseases

Using modern diagnostic approaches and technologies, FORTEMED dermatologists can diagnose skin diseases at the earliest stage. In collaboration with E. Gulbja Laboratory, tests are performed for fungal, bacterial, and other infections, and a biopsy (removal of a piece of skin tissue) is taken. Once the test results are available, effective treatment is prescribed.

Thanks to the close-knit team at the FORTEMED medical centre, dermatologists can not only prescribe medication and recommend skin care products, but also recommend cosmetic procedures performed on-site by the clinic's cosmetologists. In turn, the clinic's podiatrists can perform nail and foot care procedures. Close internal cooperation contributes to the best possible treatment outcomes, as all FORTEMED specialists involved in the process remain in constant contact to resolve patients' problems.

At the FORTEMED medical centre, we pay special attention to the detailed examination of skin lesions. Our experienced dermatologists carefully examine and analyse each skin lesion to determine its nature and the need for treatment. If a skin lesion needs to be removed, our specialists select the most appropriate method for your individual needs and the nature of the lesion.

We use modern technologies and methods, including lasers, monocoagulators, cryotherapy devices, and, if necessary, classic excisions.

Lasers are among the most effective methods for removing various skin lesions, providing less traumatic and more accurate treatment. A monocoagulator delivers an electric current that enables the precise and effective removal of skin lesions. Cryotherapy equipment uses very low temperatures to ‘freeze’ and remove skin lesions. Classic excision, in turn, is a surgical procedure in which the lesion is removed with a scalpel or punch instrument for further histological examination.

Treatment of hair disorders

Hair loss and scalp damage are not only unpleasant but also aesthetically unattractive. Today, this problem affects not only men but also women. Such disorders can be either an independent disease or a symptom of another ailment. It is very important not to delay the diagnosis of hair loss, as this can sometimes lead to irreversible consequences. Dermatologists at the FORTEMED Medical Centre use only proven diagnostic and treatment methods recommended by the CHMP and other EU institutions.

After diagnosis, which includes classic dermatoscopy and UV screening with a Wood's lamp, the specialist prescribes appropriate therapy and provides recommendations for lifestyle changes during the treatment period. In many cases, dermatologists can not only stop hair loss but also restore scalp hair growth.

Dermatologists at the FORTEMED Medical Centre, together with cosmetologists, provide comprehensive hair loss therapy, including mesotherapy, a modern and effective method for stopping hair loss.

Anti-ageing therapy

A busy lifestyle and unfavourable external conditions affect the health and appearance of our skin. It is very important not to delay diagnosing your skin condition, even if nothing appears to be wrong visually. A dermatologist can diagnose early age-related skin changes and recommend appropriate procedures or a combination of procedures to reduce the signs of ageing. If necessary, the dermatologist will refer you to another specialist for the necessary tests.

Plasma therapy (PRP) or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. PRP is used in a wide variety of cases, from aesthetic medicine to hair loss. The treatment uses the patient's own blood cells to achieve the most effective results on the treated area of the face or body.

At the FORTEMED Medical Centre, we believe that timely and accurate diagnosis is the key to effective treatment of skin diseases. We employ experienced dermatologists who are ready to help you identify and treat a range of skin conditions.

There are many causes of skin diseases, as the skin can be damaged not only by external factors but also by problems with the gastrointestinal tract, immune, and endocrine systems. Do not delay your visit to a dermatologist, as the external manifestation of the disease may indicate not only skin diseases but also problems with internal organs!
