SIA “Medon” and SIA “ForteMed” are implementing the research project within the framework of the SIA “Competence Centre for Pharmacy, Biomedicine and Medical Technologies” project, the Latvian Recovery and Resilience Mechanism Plan's reform and investment direction 2.2 “Digital transformation and innovation of enterprises”, investment 2.2.1.3.i “Support for the introduction of new products and services in business”.

The project objective is to establish cooperation between SIA “Medon” and SIA “ForteMed” in order to develop an innovative digital artificial intelligence (AI) solution — “Virtual Assistant for Doctors” — that will significantly improve the efficiency of healthcare institutions. This AI tool will facilitate the daily work of healthcare professionals by automating and structuring medical data processing and documentation preparation, analysing information entered in free form and converting it into a legally correct format, as well as ensuring integration with existing systems, including “E-health”. “Virtual Assistant for Doctors” will be practically applicable, scalable and ready for implementation in family doctor practices as well as in the outpatient and inpatient sectors.

During the period from 08.2025 to 10.2025, Activity 1 was implemented: Research into the functional and technical requirements necessary for developing the solution. 
As part of the activity, an in-depth analysis of the literature and technologies was carried out to determine the functional and technical requirements for the “Virtual Assistant for Doctors”. During this stage, user-needs scenarios were identified, as well as the limitations and compatibility requirements of existing systems, with particular attention paid to integration with E-health and clinic platforms. Requirements were also formulated for the behaviour of the language model in the medical context, data-security criteria, user-interface design principles and integration mechanisms with external systems. 

Activity result: a compilation of various user business and technical requirements based on real processes in specific healthcare institutions.
